The replies in these types of videos are often spam as is the case with most of these replies here. Someone hints they did good because of someone else and then replies pop up asking who and then the end goal of the spam comes which is a name for people to search. It's all a bunch of orchestrated BS to get your money. All of it. The reply that first mentions it, the replies asking who and the reply as to who are all part of the spam. You'll see the same thing in almost any video on investing, stock or financial advise.

I don’t measure myself with any of my peers and friends. I actually tell them ‘I don’t care where you are on your path to financial liberation or your net worth, I just care where I am’. I am at peace with wanting to get to what I have wanted and whatever that number is. I don’t waste my time comparing, and that liberates me of needing to look at others and notch up or whatever. What a way to live a life like that where you evaluate your self worth based on what others perceive of you. That is debilitating. Anyways, have goals and ONLY work on achieving that. Don’t waste time looking around on what others have or don’t and if you get there, spend a few moments thinking about giving some of it to the needy.

As with my older siblings, when I was about 12-13 I think, my parents began talking to me about saving money & budgeting. I didn't really understand at the time what they were teaching was: delayed gratification through personal financial discipline, although they did not use those exact words to a 12 year old. ha! Later my mom said, "budgeting is not depriving yourself. Budgeting is power". Huh? I did not understand because those 2 terms seemed disconnected to me. She explained it as, "budgeting teaches discipline. And discipline will be necessary to get anywhere near the life you will decide that you want some day."

Good advice, but i think it's important to note that money isn't everything. There is something to sticking it out in a place you love and making a difference there. You may earn less over a career, but stability can bring joy and privileges that lead to a more balanced and peaceful life. Climbing the latter, jumping around and making sure you're earning the same or more as your peers can be exhausting. Nothing wrong with financial ambition, but contentment is a component to happiness that is often missed.

Do you have a video on what you look for in a property (home) you intend to rent out as an investment? Size of home (bedrooms and bath) in order to appeal to greatest number of possible renters? 11% is extortion when they can just print the currency. If you invest the £30,000 and make 50 - 100% per year then it is better to finance it, which is what I do. 😉

I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. One way to minimize the anxiety out of stock market investing, is to make sure you keep a large cash cushion. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.
